Resolution:
Yes. Java is upward compatible and testing on Solaris and Windows shows that it does work on these platforms. At this time these are only two platforms supported with Java 1.6 for IcJava730.jar. This FAQ supersedes the readme and release notes for Java compatibility with IcJava.
