Description
Resolution: Description: ============ Changes in Hawk Agent's .tra file is not effective after the Hawk Agent NT service is restarted.
Environment: =========== TIBCO Administrator 5.6.x TIBCO Runtime Agent 5.6.x Microsoft Windows (All)
Resolution: ========== When starting the Hawk agent NT service, properties such as class path, java heap size, etc., defined in the .tra file are read from the Windows Registry (which is the same for TIBCO Administrator server). Updating the NT service is needed.
The following commands can be used to update the NT service: cd $tibco\tra\domain\domainname hawkagent_domainname --uninstall hawkagent_domainname --install
The commands for TIBCO Administrator NT service are similar.
Note, different from this, changes in hawkagent.cfg file do NOT need to reinstall the NT service. It will be effective immediately after restarting.
Sometime updating the Windows service causes the NT service to become disabled or fail if the services panel is still open. Rebooting the machine normally will resolve this and the commands can be run again to update the NT service.
