Description

Resolution:
The iProcess Workspace Browser can sometimes display the following message in a Microsoft Windows pop-up error message box:

"Error encountered persisting user data: 'The disk is full.' The persisted memory limit is exceeded."

The iProcess Workspace Browser uses the Microsoft userdata mechanism to store user preferences and settings so that they are available whenever the user logs into an iProcess Workspace Browser session. This persisted data will include details such as sorts, filters and column settings that the user has applied.

The data is held in the following location:

c:\Documents and Settings\&ltuser-id>\userdata    (Within this folder there will be a number of sub-folders with randomly generated names.)

The limitations imposed by Microsoft mean it is not uncommon to exceed the available space in the userdata area. However, the error message that pops up in the browser session stating "The disk is full" can cause confusion. Understandably, the most common course of action is to clear the 'Temporary Internet Files' folder, which will have no effect on this particular problem. Only after deleting some or all of the sub-folders in the userdata folder will the problem be resolved.

Tibco is aware of these limitations on userdata and may look for alternatives in future releases of the iProcess Workspace Browser.
