Description

Description:
RemoteCLI sessions, used for connecting RemoteCLI clients such as TIBCO BusinessWorks(TM) OSB Plug-in clients to a TIBCO Object Service Broker system, sometimes become inactive or hung. To clean up these sessions without requiring a manual cancel of the session in the TIBCO Object Service Broker Execution Environment (EE) or Data Object Broker (DOB), the TIMEOUTLIMIT parameter is now enforced for automatic cancellation of such sessions after the specified time of inactivity has elapsed. This will release resources that might block other work in the TIBCO Object Service Broker Execution Environment system. In a CICS Execution Environment, this can lead to a CICS stall if a maximum task condition is reached.

Operating System(s):
z/OS connected to Windows or Solaris client platforms

TIBCO Products Affected:
TIBCO Object Service Broker for z/OS 5.0.0
TIBCO BusinessWorks(TM) OSB Plug-in 5.0

Symptoms:
Symptoms include hung RemoteCLI client sessions in the z/OS TIBCO Object Service Broker Execution Environment. In a CICS Execution Environment, CICS may enter a stall if a  maxtask condition is reached.

Cause:
The Execution Environment TIMEOUTLIMIT parameter was not enforced for RemoteCLI client sessions. TIMEOUTLIMIT is now enforced for RemoteCLI sessions.

Resolution:
Open a service request with TIBCO Support and ask that you be notified when a fix for "CR 1-AC1DAU" is available.
