We can achieve fault tolerance for inbound SAP adapter by enabling the exclusive property on the inbound queue to which multiple adapters are connected while using the EMS queue transport.
Using exclusive property for the inbound queue, the EMS server sends all messages on that queue to only one adapter instance(primary). No other adapter instances can receive messages from the queue. The other adapter instances act in a standby role. If the primary adapter instance goes down, the EMS server selects one of the standby adapter instances as the new primary, and begins delivering messages to it. Thus there is no loss of messages and avoid a single point of failure.
