Description
Resolution: Description: ============ There are various users and passwords required for communication between the TIBCO iProcess Engine (SQL) and the Microsoft (MS) Windows SQL Server database. If a password is changed for the either one the MS Windows user or the MS SQL Server user then communication may fail preventing the TIBCO iProcess Engine (iPE) processes from starting.
Environment: ========== o All supported MS Windows operating system detailed in the TIBCO iProcess Engine (SQL) Version 11.x.x Installation Guide. o All supported MS SQL Server versions detailed in the TIBCO iProcess Engine (SQL) Version 11.x.x Installation Guide.
Resolution: ========= Below are areas to consider if passwords are changed. Depending on how authentication has been setup, eg if local operating system users are used or domain users, would vary what would be required. For example, users created local to the machine and database would mean the data source or database passwords would not need to change if the MS Windows password changes.
- Passwords in Staffware Events in the Component Services: To access the Staffware Events in the Component Services perform: 1. MS Windows Start -> Control Panel. 2. Open Administrative Tools. 3. Open Component Services. 4. Select Component Services -> Computer -> My Computer -> Com+ Applications by navigating the tree. 5. Expand Com+ Applications 6. Highlight the Staffware Events icon: a) right-click Staffware Events icon and select Properties. b) choose the Identity tab and re-enter password twice. c) click OK.
- Passwords for the iPE sentinels in Windows Services: 1. MS Windows Start -> Control Panel. 2. Open Administrative Tools. 3. Open Services. 4. Find your iProcess Nodename Process Sentinels service (iPE 10.6+) or Staffware nodename Process Sentinels (Pre 10.6 iPE) 5. Highlight Service -> Right-Click -> Properties 6. Click the Logon tab 7. Enter the new password in the Password and Confirm password tabs.
- Data Source within Admistration tools depending on how authentication has been set up.
- SQL Server passwords.
- If the Java and Business Works Server plug-ins are used: Two TIBCO iProcess configuration files: EAIJAVA – SWDIR/eaijava/eaijavaplugin.properties (where SWDIR is the installation directory of iPE) iProcess BusinessWorks Server Plug-in – SWDIR/eaijava/jmx/config.xml The 2 files hold the encrypted password. There are two methods to update the password: a. Re-run the technology Plug-in installer and provide the new password. b. Generate the encrypted password and manually edit the 2 files. The Technology Plug-in Installer guide details how to generated the encrypted password for a silent install. Use the same method to obtain the new encrypted password.
- If BusinessWorks (BW) is being used: In BW a TIBCO iProcess service agent resource is configured to enable BW call the TIBCO iProcess SSOLite stored procedures. The Database configuration can be: a. Auto Config – this gets the details from the SPO Server. b. Manual Configuration – in which case the database user and password are held in the resource (normally using global variables). If using Manual Configuration and the DB password changes – then undeploy the BW application, amend the global variable containing the password and redeploy. In BW the TIBCO iProcess SSOLite stored procedures can also be called using standard BW JDBC activity – in which case a JDBC Connection resource is configured containing the database user and password. If this method is used then BW must be amended in a similar manner as the TIBCO iProcess Connection resource.
