TRA upgrades will impact XML Canon only if you use XML Canon as source-control repository for your BW projects.
TRA includes a jar file which constitutes the TIBCO WebDAV connector/plugin that Designer uses to communicate with XML Canon. If this jar file contains updates, then the TRA upgrade is likely to have an impact on projects stored in XML Canon since the updates could represent a fix to defect or an enhancement to the connector.
