Description:
The output from the $REALTIMER shareable tool will exceed the capacity of its 8 byte packed length output field definition in September 2011. In order to prevent this the size of the output field has been increased to be packed length 16, i.e. 31 decimal digits. This maintenance has been delivered in TIBCO Object Service Broker for z/OS 5.0.0 Hotfix 12:
AP13248 Increase length of return value from $REALTIME
This may have significant implications for some customers who store $REALTIMER values in tables.
* If the difference between two $REALTIMER values are stored in tables there should be no impact.
* If full $REALTIMER values are stored then the length of the fields will need to be increased. The length of non-key fields can simply be increased in the table definition.
* Tables where $REALTIMER values are part of the primary key will need to be unloaded, cleared, changed and reloaded.
* Tables where $REALTIMER values are part of a secondary key will need the secondary key to be removed before the change and then rebuilt.
This LBN item is being issued so that customers can evaluate the impact to their environment and make any required changes to table definitions. This can be done before the fix is applied.
