Issue/Introduction

How to secure the repository files so that others can not access them or open them up manually.

Resolution

Repository server stores/retrieves the documents in the same format that the files are given to the InConcert (IC)/Repository server. If you want to secure the document then you have to encrypt before the documents are attached to TIBCO BuisnessWorks Collaborator activities. Encryption/Decryption has to be done in application logic. One more option to consider is having the Repository Directory controlled by a particular user and allow only that user to have access to the files. Usually this user is Creep. See Chapter 3 of the IC UNIX Admin Guide and the Installation Guide for more details. Notethat this has a limitation that any user with admin privileges still has access to the documents.

Additional Information

See Chapter 3 of the InConcert(R) (IC) UNIX Admin Guide and the Installation Guide for more details on configuring the repository server.
