Description

Resolution:
For performance or workload management purposes, there may be a requirement to set up a separate mboxset to process messages from the swutil or swbatch command. One example of this might be to have a separate queue and dedicated background processes to process purge instructions. The Tibco iProcess Engine Administrator's Guide gives an example of how to configure an additional queue and mboxset, but there is no information regarding how to redirect swbatch and swutil messages to the new queue.

Environment:
===========
All environments and database versions running Tibco iProcess Engine.

Cause
=====
The iProcess Engine Administrator's Guide defines the MBSET_WRITE_BG attribute as being applicable to the BG, WIS, SPO, RPC_POOL or ALL processes, and implies that the swbatch command is always included under ALL processes.

Resolution:
==========
The MBSET_WRITE_BG attribute can be set independently for both the swbatch and swutil commands. This allows messages from swbatch or swutil to be sent to a specific mboxset.

To redirect swutil messages to a specific mboxset the following attribute must be set:

swadm set_attribute 1 PSTAFFIFC 0 MBSET_WRITE_BG [mboxset id]

To redirect swbatch messages to a specific mboxset the following attribute must be set:

swadm set_attribute 1 SWBATCH 0 MBSET_WRITE_BG [mboxset id]
