Microsoft Windows is a strategic platform for TIBCO and our customers. TIBCO products are broadly supported across several different releases of Windows, including Vista, XP, and Server 2003. TIBCO is committed to continued support of the evolving Windows platform, including the latest Windows 2008 R2 release. At this time TIBCO products treat Windows 2008 R2 as a separate OS from Windows Server 2008.
TIBCO is planning a rolling introduction of Windows Server 2008 R2 support as new major or minor versions of our products are released. If TIBCO determines that a current version of a given product can be supported without any code modification then support for Windows Server 2008 R2 will be announced for that product via a Late Breaking News article. At this time we are not planning to introduce Windows Server 2008 R2 support for legacy product releases, and we suggest that customers consider planning an upgrade to this platform in conjunction with an upgrade to Windows Server 2008 R2 -compatible TIBCO product versions as they become available.
Please note that several of our products may have dependencies on other products, such as TIBCO BusinessWorks having a dependency on TRA. Even though a lower-level product (such as TRA) may announce support for Windows Server 2008 R2 this does not imply that the higher-level products are also supported. Customers should confirm that their high-level products (such as TIBCO BusinessWorks) have announced Support for Windows Server 2008 R2 prior to moving to this platform.
