When running on HP-UNIX Itanium platform, TIBCO Adapter(TM) for LDAP could report an error during startup: - Unsatisfied code symbol 'gethostbyname_r' in load module '/opt/tibco/it/adapter/adldap/5.4/lib/libldap50.sl'.

Environment:

TIBCO Adapter(TM) for LDAP 5.4.0
HP-UX 11i v2 / v3 IA64 Itanium platform

Symptoms:
========
In case of LDAP Adapter running on HP-UNIX Itanium platform, if we configured the host name by using the name of the machine where the LDAP server is running, the error would be reported and LDAP Adapter would fail to start up.

Cause:
======
The 'gethostbyname_r' API function could not be invoked properly in HP-UNIX Itanium platform. If we tried to specify the name of the machine as the HOSTNAME for connecting to LDAP Server, this error would be thrown during runtime.

Resolution:
==========
This issue can be resolved by using the IP Address instead as the host name of the target LDAP server.
