Controlling the HTTPRequestTimeout and ReplyTimeout arguments for the EAI TIBCO HTTP Agent and temporary queue.

Resolution

“HTTPRequestTimeout” is the argument of the Siebel EAI TIBCO HTTP Agent which controls how long an agent waits for a response from an adapter. The value of this argument can be seen by opening the EAI TIBCO HTTP Agent Business service in the method “SendRequest”. The default value is 120 seconds. If the agent waits longer than HTTPRequestTimeout for a response, the EAI TIBCO HTTP Agent will throw an error resembling the following on the Siebel side:  “No running adapter found…” .

The “ReplyTimeout” is another argument of the EAI TIBCO HTTP Agent which works in the Siebel Adapter. It is encapsulated in the request sent to the Adapter. The adapter will extract the value and use it as a timeout for controlling how long the adapter sends the request to BW, EMS or RV, process the response and send it back to Siebel. This argument  also controls the timeout for the temporary queue. When you see the error “….failed to get response within the specified time 10000…”, it is reporting that the temporary queue has expired. The ReplyTimeout is by default 10000 seconds. An adapter cannot receive any response from a temporary queue which has already expired.
