Description

Description:
The output from the $REALTIMER utility will exceed 15 decimal digits,  8 bytes packed, in September 2011.  In order to accommodate this fact $REALTIMER for TIBCO Object Service Broker for z/OS has been modified in the following product releases and maintenance for z/OS:

  * the GA version of TIBCO Object Service Broker for z/OS   5.2.0,
  * Hotfix12 for TIBCO Object Service Broker for z/OS 5.0
  * PSP bucket 15 for TIBCO ObjectStar for z/OS 4.1

to produce a 31 decimal digit, 16 byte packed output field.

This may have significant implications for some customers who store $REALTIMER values in tables:

  * If the difference between two $REALTIMER values are stored in tables there should be no impact.

  * If full $REALTIMER values are stored then the length of the fields will need to be increased to at least 9 bytes before September 2011. The length of non-key fields can simply be increased in the table definition.

  * Tables where $REALTIMER values are part of the primary key will need to be unloaded, cleared, changed and reloaded.

  * Tables where $REALTIMER values are part of a secondary key will need the secondary key to be removed before the change and then rebuilt.
