Description:
Incorrect binding of S6BOIGRT may cause inappropriate Language Environment options to be used by z/OS Execution Environments running remote CLI sessions. This may lead to S878 or U4093 abends depending on the z/OS customer default LE options for z/OS and the virtual storage usage by the application.

In one particular case, the site default was ALL31(OFF) which placed all Language Environment storage below the line, causing a shortage of LSQA when the below the line private area expanded beyond its capability.

Environment:
z/OS running Execution Environments, CICS/TS or Native Execution Environments, running remote CLI sessions for BusinessWorks OSB Plug-in or other remote clients.

Products:
TIBCO Object Service Broker for z/OS 5.0

Symptoms:
z/OS  S878-0C,  S878-10 or U4093-1C abends in Language Environment.

Cause:
The SMP/E packaging for S6BOIGRT (alias OIGRTNS) did not include a reference to the Language Environment default options module CEEUOPT allowing LE to default to the site LE specification which may be inappropriate for a heavily used online application.

Resolution:
Please contact TIBCO Product Support and ask to be put on the interested parties list for CR 1-AT8JNR. There is also a workaround relink option available if a resolution is required before a hotfix can be delivered for this problem.
