Description:
============
When reading a text file (.txt extension) with an inbound file poller transport using the EZComm protocol the file is sent to BusinessWorks with a ".dat" extension.  The .dat extension indicates that BC has processed the file as a binary file rather than a text file.

Environment:
==========
BusinessConnect 5.X

Cause:
=====
XML files may be generated with a BOM (Byte Order Mark) at the beginning of the file.  These binary bytes (2 to 3 in length) indicate the byte order of multibyte characters in the rest of the file.  BusinessConnect looks at the beginning of the file, and seeing that these first few bytes are not valid character bytes, treats the file as a binary file.

Resolution:
=========
Format the incoming file without a BOM at the beginning of the file.
