It is possible to have multiple installations of RV on the same machine, however it is not recommended, particularly on a Production machine.  Take for example the case when a program attempts to connect to a TIBCO Rendezvous daemon process. If a local RV daemon process is not yet running the program will start one automatically and attempt to connect to it. If you have several RV versions in several directories then this program will start the first RV daemon found in the PATH.  So you need to take factors such as this into account if you plan to have multiple versions installed on the same machine.

Generally we recommend that customers deploy the most recent version possible so as to minimize the risk of running into known defects addressed in later versions of the product.
