This FAQ addresses the lack of XML Canon support for Oracle 10g/11g in a grid (i.e. load-balanced).

Resolution:

XML Canon 3.2 does not support the use of Oracle service name in its JDBC connection URL. Only the native Oracle thin-client driver is supported and only via the following Oracle JDBC URL:

jdbc:oracle:thin:@[host][:port]:SID
