Description:

Using the default JDBC URL for SQL Server may cause the Administrator to become unresponsive. This JDBC URL is presented by the TIBCO Configuration Tool during the creation of AMX Administrator or AMX BPM instance.


Environment:
===========
   Any of the following when used in conjunction with Microsoft SQL Server
   o TIBCO ActiveMatrix Service Grid 3.0.0 and 3.0.0 HF1
   o TIBCO ActiveMatrix Service Bus 3.0.0 and 3.0.0 HF1
   o TIBCO ActiveMatrix BPM 1.0.1 and 1.0.1 HF1


Symptoms:
========
The Administrator becomes unresponsive.


Cause:
=====
The default JDBC URL used for pointing the Administrator to the SQL Server instance may cause deadlocks.


Resolution:
==========
This issue ID is "AMX-6458". TIBCO intends to address it in a future release.


Workaround:
==========

. If you haven't yet configured the AMX Administrator JDBC URL.
This issue can be mitigated by removing the "SelectMethod=cursor" string from the default JDBC URL.

Check the default JDBC URL for SQL Server that is presented on the "Administrator Server Configuration: Database Details" panel by the TIBCO Configuration Tool and ensure that it does not contain the "SelectMethod=cursor" string. If it does, remove it from the JDBC URL.
