Sometimes Input mapping freezes Designer which then becomes noresponsive.

Case 1):

One common tunning you can do is to increase the Java heap size for the Designer if you have not done so. You can increase it in Designer.tra
at /designer/&lt5.x>/bin, then restart the Designer.

Case 2):

".TIBCO" folder contains various files (like designer preferences, working directories,custom_palettes,,logs  etc) which can sometimes get corrupted leading to problems like designer hang. Designer recreates .TIBCO folder if it has not been created.

Try to make a backup of "C:\Documents and Settings\&ltusername>\.TIBCO" on windows or &ltUSER_HOME>/.TIBCO on UNIX folder and remove it.

Note: A drawback of the above approach is you will loose your Designer preferences which are stored as part of Designer5.prefs.
