Description
Resolution: Description: ============ Using the 3270 Table Definer to define an IMS table which uses the external IMS syntax (Xsyn) of "H" (Hexadecimal) in combination with TIBCO Object Service Broker syntax (Syn) of "RD" (Raw Data) will suffer a Table Definer Failure.
Environment: ========== * TIBCO Object Service Broker for z/OS 5.2.0 * using the 3270 Table Definer
Symptoms: ========= User will receive the following error message on their 3270 Workbench: Assignment by name of table "@IMSDEF_FLD" to table "@@IMSDEF_FLD" failed; source string too long for field "SYNTAX"
Cause: ===== The 3270 Table Definer is incorrectly handling the two-byte syntax value of "RD" and cannot store this value into the target 1-byte long field @@IMSDEF_FLD.SYNTAX.
Resolution: ========= If you need to use RD syntax for your IMS table definition, open a Service Request with TIBCO Support and request a fix for issue OSBZ-1295.
