1). There is no negative impact on the server side when using compression. Instead, there may be a positive impact on the EMS server as it requires less memory and the read socket buffer size will be smaller when messages are compressed.
2). Compression may have a performance impact on the client side.
Message compression involves memory intensive computation. Compression reduces message volume with the tradeoff being the speed of message processing. In general, compression of large messages reduces disk space requirements for persistent messages and reduction of the transmission time between the client and the EMS server.
