Description:

Both TIBCO Policy Manager and TIBCO Policy Agent allow you to specify custom properties. These may be overridden during the installation of a hotfix package. In such case, you can retrieve them from their respective configuration files backed up during the hotfix installation process.

For example, the following custom properties could exist in your startProxyAgent.tra before the hotfix is installed.

After installing the ProxyAgent hotfix, the above SSL properties are replaced by the following entries.

The original startProxyAgent.tra file and property values can be found under the backup directory TIBCO_HOME/policyagent/3.1/backup/3.0/instances/pm-{port}/bin.

Symptoms:
========
Some configuration parameters appear changed after the hotfix has been installed and the process restarted, causing errors or otherwise abnormal behaviors.


Cause:
=====
The hotfix installation process does override your custom properties.


Resolution:
==========
If you have not made your own backup before installing the hotfix, the hotfix installation process does take a backup as well. You can retrieve your custom properties from their respective configuration files in the backup directory. Typically it is located under
    - TIBCO_HOME/policyagent/3.1/backup and
    - TIBCO_HOME/policymanager/3.1/backup.
