Resolution: Description: ============ Muticast rate tuning guidelines for TIBCO EMS:
). Make sure that the channels ttl is large enough for data to cross all switches and routers.
). In the case where loss is detected, decrease the multicast channels maxrate property. Doing this may improve the situation.
). Ensure that the multicast streams are being generated with a time to live that is long enough for messages to get to the destinations using the longest-possible path through the network. This is related to point 1). above.
). Verify the routers or switches in the network. Check if they are configured to limit the broadcast rate (which can explain why the TCP rate is higher). Note that the limitation is set for the broadcast rate but they generally limit the multicast rate too depending on the network devices in the network.
). “IO Failed” error messages indicate that the multicast daemon detects excessive loss. Usually this means that the server is sending too fast and maxrate for the channel needs to be decreased.
