Description:

Installation of TIBCO Adapter for Files 6.0.0 on Unix machine like AIX, HP-UX having 32-bit TRA 5.7.1 installed previously shows error "Failed to Initialise TIBCo rendezvous Check".


Environment:
===========
All supported UNIX platforms
TIBCO Adapter for Files version 6.0.0
TIBCO Runtime Agent version 5.7.1 (32-bit)


Symptoms:
========
The log file adfiles.version.tibadm_install.log located under TIBCO/logs folder shows following error:

java.lang.NullPointerException
at com.tibco.installer.wizard.action.TIBCORVCheck.initRVInstall(TIBCORVCheck.java:95)
at com.tibco.installer.wizard.panel.TIBCODependencyCheck.getResolvedVersionOfRVandHawk(TIBCODependencyCheck.java:176)

Also reinstall of TRA 5.7.1 shows errors similar to the follwoing:

Cause:
=====
There are some Post Installation Requirements for TRA 5.7.1 related to TIBCO Hawk on Unix as follows:

1). Change TIBCO Hawk HMA Permissions.

2). Link TIBCO Hawk HMA with TIBCO Rendezvous Library.

If these required steps are not performed then file adapter installation shows the error 'Failed to Initialise TIBCo rendezvous Check'.


Resolution:
==========
Remove all environmment variables related to JRE, tibco, or class path.

There are post installation tasks for TRA 5.7.1. Please refer to the TRA document -> Installation -> Installing TIBCO Runtime Agent -> Post Installation Requirements on Unix.

Make sure these reqiured tasks are performed before installing the file adapter.
