Description

On an X12 or EDIFACT transaction, BC is generating a validation error that I wish to ignore.  How do I configure the trading partner or operation to ignore this error?

You can use EDISIM's Validator program to generate an .apf file that can be uploaded to the specific operation to cause BC to suppress the error.

To do this, use the following procedure:

1). Using EDISIM's Validator program, validate a sample X12 or EDIFACT data file against your guideline. Any validation errors will appear in blue text in the top screen of the Validator.

2). The Validator program allows you to modify the Validator profile (via the Options | Validator Profile screen) to suppress the specific error you are observing. Do this by right-clicking on the error message in the top screen. Select "Severity Level and on the submenu change the severity from "Error" to "Ignore".  Repeat this process for all other errors you would like to suppress.

3). Once you have identified all of the errors export the profile by selecting Options | Save Profile and give the .apf file a specific name.

4). Upload the .apf file into the specific operation under the guideline tab using the "change" hyperlink next to the "Validator Profile File (.apf) selection.
