Description:
============
A situation may arise where the iP Address of the server that runs the TIBCO iProcess Engine (iPE) needs be changed. Would this cause any problems and if not are there any updates to iPE required?

Environment:
==========
All supported versions of TIBCO iProcess Engine.
All supported databases and operating systems.

Resolution:
=========
There will be no impact of an IP Address change providing there is no change in the server hostname. The TIBCO iProcess Engine will pick up the new IP Address so long as the hostname is used and can be resolved.

Any change to the iP Address should be performed when no iPE processes are running.

There are a number of places where the hardcoded IP Address may be used by the iPE client. Key iPE configuration files to check are:

SWDIR/etc/swjmx.properties
SWDIR/etc/iapjms.properties
SWDIR//eaijavaplugin.properties
SWDIR/eaijava/jmxconfig.properties
SWDIR/eaijava/jmx/config.xml
SWDIR/jmsadmin/jmsdb.properties

Where SWDIR is the installation directory of the iPE.

If the BusinessWorks-iPE Plug-in is being used, a reference needs to be made to the new IP address of the TIBCO iProcess Objects Server in the connection configuration in BusinessWorks projects. If using the TIBCO iProcess Workspace (Browser) client, check the config.xml as it usually contains the IP Address. If any custom client code is being used these would need to be checked for any change to the IP address.
