This document is intended as a supplement to the product documentation for platform upgrade, in order to provide timely assistance for specific problems that have been discovered since the release of TIBCO ActiveMatrix Service Grid 3.1.5, TIBCO ActiveMatrix Service Bus 3.1.5, TIBCO BusinessWorks Service Engine 5.9.3, and TIBCO ActiveMatrix BPM 1.3.0.  It is assumed that the reader is familiar with the upgrade documentation that ships with those products – the common steps for this will be collectively named “TIBCO ActiveMatrix 3.1.5 upgrade” for the remainder of this document.

In spite of the issues documented here, it is possible to have a smooth, seamless upgrade experience, after following a few simple guidelines to avoid the problems.

While this document discusses issues with platform upgrade in the context of product upgrades, it does not discuss product-specific upgrade problems with TIBCO ActiveMatrix BPM or TIBCO ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks Service Engine, currently.  For example, if upgrade from TIBCO ActiveMatrix BPM 1.1.1 to 1.3.0 requires application of some TIBCO ActiveMatrix BPM 1.1.1 hotfix, that is not covered here.
