Description
Resolution:
In upgrading to TIBCO Object Service Broker R5.2.0, partial DB2 table definitions can cause the database PTFs not to apply correctly. Some DB2 tables may have "DB2 Creator and "DB2 Table" removed from their definitions in the upgraded system.
Environment:
============
All users of TIBCO Object Service Broker using the Service Gateway for DB2.
Symptoms:
=========
"DB2 Creator and "DB2 Table" missing from some DB2 tables in the upgraded OSB v5.2 system.
Cause:
======
The problem occurs if PTF 12186 encounters a DB2 table definition for which an entry exists in TABLES, but for which no corresponding entry is in @SERVERPARMS. The incomplete definition causes it to abandon copying "DB2 Creator and "DB2 Table" from @DB2TABLES, where they are kept in 5.0, to @SERVERPARMS, where they reside in v5.2.
As a result, values for "DB2 Creator and "DB2 Table" will be lost for any DB2 table not yet encountered by the copying operation.
Resolution:
===========
Ensure that, in the 5.0 system about to be upgraded, no DB2 tables are represented in TABLES but not in @SERVERPARMS.
