Universal installer reports the following when installing a hotfix:
TIBINS427401: The universal installer could not find any installation environments for this service pack installation.

BW 5.9.2
TIBCOUniversalInstaller version 2.8.0.042

Symptoms:
=========
Universal installer (version: 2.8.0.042) reports the following when installing a hotfix:
TIBINS427401: The universal installer could not find any installation environments for this service pack installation.


Cause:
======
There are 2 possible causes:

1). The base product was installed by a different user from the user installing the hotfix.

2). The installer is using a different JRE (32 bit / 64 bit)

Example:

In the first installation of BW, the installer uses the built in JRE (32 bit) to run. The environment information will be placed here:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\InstallShield\Universal\TIBCO\Gen1\_vpddb\_envInfo.xml

However, in the second installation, the installer uses an installed JRE on the system (64 bit).  The installer will look for the environment information here:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\Universal\TIBCO\Gen1\_vpddb\


Resolution:
=========
1). Ideally, the same user account used to install the base product should be used to install the hotfix.

2). Use the same JRE for both installation sessions (32 bit or 64 bit).

Have the _envInfo.xml placed in both locations from the example above:
  
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\InstallShield\Universal\TIBCO\Gen1\_vpddb\
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\Universal\TIBCO\Gen1\_vpddb\  

Note: TIBCOUniversalInstaller version 2.8.0.042 is an older version of the universal installer. Newer versions automatically account for the 32 vs 64-bit difference.
