If you have created sub roles and have not configured it to contain a parent role as a role member, then if you assign this sub role to workflow users and do the workflow user synchronization and check the database, you will find that the sub roles are not saved properly.

Environment

Product: TIBCO BusinessWorks Collaborator Version: 5.5.x and 5.6.x OS: All Supported platforms

Resolution

For TIBCO BWC workflow Role Hierarchy to work properly, the child roles should contain the parent role as a role member. Implement the following to achieve this.

1). Create sub roles in admin GUI.
2). Add parent roles as a role member for each sub role.
3). Create workflow users in admin GUI.
4). Assign parent roles to workflow users.
5). Do workflow user sync in Admin GUI.
