Description

Resolution:
Environment:
========
TIBCO BusinessWorks Service Engine (BWSE) All.
Windows Family OS.
Antivirus/Firewall software installed .

Symptoms:
========
Antivirus/Firewall software may block BWSE application from sending an email. An error similar to the following may be thrown:

Job-6000 Error in [Utilities/Email/SendEmail.process/Send Mail] Error sending mail message. Cause: javax.mail.MessagingException: Can't send command to SMTP host;

Or

Job-4000 Error in [Process Definition.process/Send Mail] Error sending mail message. Cause: javax.mail.MessagingException: Could not connect to SMTP host: <hostname>, port: <number>

The same application tested from DABS/Designer/Classic BW works fine. This behavior was observed with McAfee AV/FW.

Cause:
=====
AMX Node process is detected by McAfee as potential mass mailing worm.

Resolution:
=======
Check with your Antivirus/Firewall Vendor regarding how to add the AMX Node process to the exclusion list.

For MacAfee 8.0 this can be done under:

Access Protection -> Anti-virus Standard Protection -> Prevent mass mailing worms from sending mail -> Edit rule -> add tibamx_<nodeName>.exe process to exclusion list.

Refer to the attached screenshot (Filename: AMX_.McAfee_Exclusion.jpg).
