Resolution: Description: ============ When uninstallating BC, the uninstaller hangs, and when the uninstaller is killed, the following exception is thrown: "Waiting for a lock on a Vpd file" .
Environment: ========== Windows 7 and XP
Symptoms: ========= When we try to uninstall BC 6.x, the uninstaller hangs. When the uninstaller process is killed ,a new console window opens with the following exception repeated number of times "Waiting for a lock on a Vpd file". If you check the vpd.properties files on the system with the unlocker tools, there are no locking handles on these files.
Cause: ===== Issue with the locking mechanism on the files.
Resolution: ========= Find the following two files under tibco_home and delete them:
.installregistrylock .installregistrylck
Redo the uninstallation process.
