Description
Resolution: Resolution: ========= There is no direct formula for determining how many CPUs are needed to run Administrator on a particular machine. Hardware planning is quite complicated in itself, because there are several simultaneously changing factors that affect the CPU and memory utilization of a box such as multiple bwengines are running on a box or any other TIBCO software utilizing your machine's CPU .
Other factors to consider are how well the design is done for your Administration Domain. Are you planning to use Primary and Secondary Domain (FT). What is the domain transport (RV or EMS). What is your deployment transport for the application deployed i.e., RV,HTTP or Local. If you select Local Deployment transport for a BW application then it helps in reducing considerable load on Administrator. We have a “Tuning Guide for TIBCO Administrator” document attached to this solution reference which can help customers plan their Admin Domain architecture and improve your performance which will also help them in capacity planning.
For Capacity Planning we usually recommend a customer runs specific tests in their own environment to determine the optimal hardware setup to use. Alternatively, we suggest contacting TIBCO PSG to assist in conducting performance tests for any specific environment. .
