Sometimes there are some BW processes in the system which actually are not associated with any of the deployed application in the domain. These processes are no longer linked with any TIBCO processes. The zombie/ghost processes can be identified by "Administrator-> Machines -> Processes -> Show all processes". The process which has "bwengine.exe" as the process name but where the field 'Tibco components' is empty is a zombie process

Symptoms:
========
Some BW processes will be visible under "Administrator GUI-> Machines -> Processes -> Show all processes" OR in task manager (for Windows) which are not linked with any of the deployed/running process in the administrator domain. Theses processes will consume resources such as memory and CPU.

Cause:
===========
A zombie process might appear if users undeploy/delete an application while the Hawk agent is not running. For instance, a BW application "testbw" has one process instance configured and running on machine 'smunola-dt'. The tra Hawk agent on 'smunola-dt' was stopped. Now a user logs in to the Admin GUI, undeploy and delete application 'testbw' without checking the machine status in the Admin GUI. The Undeploy and Delete action can still be executed successfully even though the Hawk agent is not running. The configuration of 'testbw' is already removed/changed in the repository. But the application’s file on the target machine still exists.

Thus a zombie process would appear. This process is running on the machine, but does not belong to any domain.

Resolution:
==========
Identify the zombie processes from "Administrator-> Machines -> Processes -> Show all processes" and kill them manually OR restart the server.
