How to identify whether log files were automatically or manually rotated.

Description:

1). When you have specified the Max log file size parameter in the main configuration file and once the log file reaches the specified size, it creates a new file and logs the following trace in the log file:

2013-11-18 13:24:19.945 Log file restarted

The above trace is logged when automatic rotation is done.

2). You can manually rotate the log file with the following command from the EMS admin tool:

tcp://localhost:7222> rotatelog
Log file has been rotated

With the above command, the EMS server saves the existing file and creates a new one for further traces. With this command, the EMS server logs the following line in both the old and newly created log file:

2013-11-18 13:36:27.589 [&ltuser_name>@&lthostname>]: rotated log file.
