Cause:
If the 'TIBCO Spotfire Enterprise Player' license is not enabled in addition to the ‘TIBCO Spotfire Consumer’ license you can get the error message described in this article while opening an analysis file in Web player.
 

Received error message "The required license to open a file is missing" while trying to open analysis file in Web Player from library.

To be able to use and open the analysis files from Web Player, in addition to the ‘TIBCO Spotfire Consumer’ license the user needs to have the following sub-licenses enabled from the 'TIBCO Spotfire Enterprise Player' license:

• Open File – this license function is needed to open an analysis from the Web Player
• Open from Library - this license function is needed to open an analysis from the Library
• Open Linked Data – this license is needed to open an analysis which has linked data
• Save Spotfire Analysis File - this license function is required for a user to be able to open the current Spotfire Web Player file for additional analysis in either TIBCO Spotfire Analyst or Enterprise Player.
