Description

Description:

The U.S. Congress has again delayed adoption of the International Classification of Diseases, Tenth Revision (ICD-10) as the code set standard until at least October 1, 2015. The ICD-10 provision was included in a bill designed to prevent a reduction in Medicare reimbursements for physicians and was originally scheduled to begin on April 1, 2014.

As a result of this most recent delay, the earliest date the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) can require ICD-10 as a billing standard is now October 1, 2015. Although CMS has not formally announced a new cutover date or different approach, this date is our current expectation.

Therefore, TIBCO Foresight will relax all edits surrounding the previous ICD-10 cutover date (October 1, 2014) in a future Guideline Release. When CMS announces a new date, guidelines will be updated accordingly.
