Description:

When you provide database details in TIBCO BusinessWorks ProcessMonitor(BWPM) Server under Administration->Connnections->JDBC and try to 'Create Database' then you may see the following error due to a low BLOCK_SIZE.

Database could not be created.
ORA-01450: maximum key length (3118) exceeded.
***




Symptoms:
Exception error will be seen after hitting the 'Create Database' button.

Cause:
BLOCK_SIZE of Oracle database is too low.

Issue/Introduction

TIBCO BusinessWorks ProcessMonitor (BWPM) GUI fails to create a database when the BLOCK_SIZE of the Oracle database is too low.

Resolution

Minimum Oracle Database BLOCK_SIZE has to be 8kB, for 64-bit systems or Multibyte character. Set the BLOCK_SIZE to 16KB or greater. You can consult with your local DBA for more information.
