Can an external non-TIBCO JMX management tool be used to manage and monitor the JMX server inside the Gateway Server.  Also, is there a way to start the Gateway Server from the Administrator?

Can external tools be used to manage and monitor BusinessConnect's Gateway Server?

Resolution

BusinessConnect 6.X.X Gateway Server is managed using a JMX interface from the Interior Server. The BusinessConnect Gateway Server interface is proprietary even though it utilizes JMX as the management protocol. An external tool can not be used to manage nor monitor it. Should additional monitoring of the Gateway Server be desired, we recommend installing Hawk on the Gateway Server system and configure Hawk's log monitoring capability to monitor the Gateway Servers log. The Gateway Server itself can only be started from a command prompt or a service on Windows machines. Once started, the Gateway Services can be managed from the Administrator.
