Issue/Introduction

How to configure aspects configuration in TIBCO BusinessWorks ProcessMonitor.

Resolution

Ways to Configure Aspect Configuration in TIBCO BusinessWorks ProcessMonitor (BWPM) is explained step by step in the TIBCO BusinessWorks Process Monitor Server User Guide.pdf  (under The Activity Menu->Extract).

In order to add an Error event in the BWPM Server GUI using Aspect Configuration, do the following.

1). Click on the Aspect Configuration icon in the Activity menu of the activity for which you want to configure aspects.

2). On the Aspect Configuration window that appears, go to 'Add Event' drop down and select 'Error'.

3). In the list of properties, set any property by configuring the appropriate expression type and applying it to either the input or output of that activity.

4). Click on save settings.

5). Create the job again (which has the activity for which the aspects are now configured) and the Error log should be visible in the main view of BWPM GUI.

An example with screen shots where an 'Error' event is added in the configure aspects section is attached (Filename: aspect_configuration.PNG) and where, for example, a 'Null' activity generates an 'Error' log event (Filename: activity_error_event.PNG).
