Description

Description:
A user installed the BusinessConnect Interior Server on one server and the Gateway Server on another server. The servers are connected via RVRD (not on the same network) without a firewall. The user is not able to see the GS on the Gateway Instance even though the IS and GS are successfully up and running when started from a command prompt.
Symptoms:
GS is not able to displayed in Admin UI.
Cause:

The GS and IS servers are on different networks, so the Interior server is not able to identify the GS machine through the standard name resolution.

Resolution

Add the name of the GS server into the IS machines /etc/hosts file on UNIX/LINUX machines, or in $WINDOWS_HOME/system32/drivers/etc/hosts on a Windows machine.
