Description

Resolution:
The post migration script (NJAMS_DB_POST_MIGRATE.SQL) is required only if you are upgrading to new release of TIBCO BusinessWorks ProcessMonitor(BWPM) Server. The post migration script (NJAMS_DB_POST_MIGRATE.SQL) will migrate the old process executions path (tracks) (the green arrows of the process definitions) into the new tables. The execution of the post-migration script NJAMS_DB_POST_MIGRATE.SQL is optional and needs only be executed if such older historic track information is required.

If you omit the post migration, the process executions before upgrading will not appear but the new process executions right after the regular migration will be visible immediately. Support recommends skipping the post-migration script NJAMS_DB_POST_MIGRATE.SQL first to make sure the upgrade is done. You can log in into the BWPM Server User Interface to verify new process executions are visible after the upgrade.

Support recommends evaluating the need of old data and its size. Consider your upgraded database server and TIBCO EMS server provides enough storage for incoming log messages for the duration of the migration. If you want to retain old data, then the post-migration script can be executed any time after the server has been upgraded. It can run in the background while the server is processing data or you can run the script during down-time. Depending on the size of the table to migrate, the script may run multiple hours. The post-migration script can be stopped and restarted at any point in time while running without risk of loosing or corrupting data.

Note that the execution of post-migration script needs special database privileges which is documented in BWPM 3.0.1 release notes->Installation section. Once you run the post-migration script NJAMS_DB_POST_MIGRATE.SQL script, you can log-in to the BWPM Server User Interface to verify older process executions are now visible.
