Description

Description:
When BW accesses external web services using SOAP or HTTP activity over the HTTPS protocol, it is required to download the complete chain of server certificates and import them to the BW project. There is a free tool called Portecle that can be used to examine SSL connections to the external server and download certificates. However, sometimes Portecle only shows the intermediate CA and leaf certificate.  The root CA is not available for download. The root CA is usually a well-known CA such as "Class 3 Public Primary Certification Authority".

How to download "Class 3 Public Primary Certification Authority" certificates.

Resolution

You can download the root CA in a browser. For Google Chrome, go to Settings, Show Advanced Settings, HTTPS/SSL, Trusted Root Certificates tab, and select the root CA. Click export, select Base 64 encoding format (.pem) and save. After the download, you can import the root CA to the BW project.
