Description:
When multiple CICS interfaces are connected to one CICS region, transactions may abend. Abend codes AAL8 and ATDC have been observed for these transactions. The cause of the problem is a deadlock in CICS 5.1, for which IBM has provided an APAR to rectify the situation. When using CICS TS 5.1, IBM APAR PM98235 should be applied to CICS.
Symptoms:
Transactions abend with codes such as AAL8, ATDC have been observed.
Cause:
This is a CICS deadlock issue identified by IBM.
Resolution
To fix this issue apply IBM APAR: PM98235 PTF: UI12853.
