Description:
We have installed BW 6.2.2 HF3 on our AIX infrastructure. The BW documentation states the following post installation steps on AIX:

1). Remove TIBCO_JRE_HOME/1.7.0/lib/xml.jar.

2). Copy BW622_HOME/system/shared/com.tibco.tpcl.javax.system.exports_5.0.401.002/xml-apis.jar into TIBCO_JRE_HOME/1.7.0/lib/ext

3).. Copy BW622_HOME/system/shared/com.tibco.tpcl.com.ctc.wstx_3.2.300.002/wstxasl-3.2.9.jar into TIBCO_JRE_HOME/1.7.0/lib/ext

4). To resolve localhost on an AIX platform, add the property [hosts = local, bind4] to /etc/netsvc.conf if applicable.


After performing these steps, we installed TEA 2.2. When running the Universal Installer we noticed already that it would not run because of the missing xml.jar in the JRE lib folder. We restored it temporarily and installed TEA 2.2. . After this, we again removed xml.jar from the JRE lib folder. We the noticed that TEA does not start without this file.

/opt/tibco6/tibco/tea/2.2/bin> ./tea

WRAPPER - start method threw an exception.

Exception in thread "TIBCO Enterprise Administrator Main" javax.xml.parsers.FactoryConfigurationError: Provider org.apache.xerces.jaxp.SAXParserFactoryImpl not found.


Symptoms:
TEA can not be installed or started. Exception in thread "TIBCO Enterprise Administrator Main" javax.xml.parsers.FactoryConfigurationError: Provider org.apache.xerces.jaxp.SAXParserFactoryImpl not found.

Cause:
Missing XML.jar

Resolution

Defect (AMBW-21381) has been submitted and will be fixed in a future release. Two workarounds are recommended.


1). Installing BW6 and TEA in separate home directories is the preferred option. Post installation steps for BW6 on AIX will need to be followed. 


2). Placing the xml.jar under TEA\lib .
