Resolution:
The issue was resolved by using an Apache load balancer to specify the instance-id in the standalone.xml for each node. <subsystem xmlns="urn:jboss:domain:web:1.1" default-virtual-server="default-host" instance-id="${jboss.node.name}" native="false">
