Description:
The BusinesssConnect EDI Protocol INITIATOR.REQUEST message has a field available for setting the Interchange and Group Control number for outbound X12 documents. Should these fields be set?
Resolution
Unless you have a need to explicitly set these values for a specific trading partner, leave them blank and let BusinessConnect assign them. By allowing BusinessConnect to do this, BusinessConnect will insure that Interchange, Group and Transaction number are done sequentially correct to a trading partner.
