Issue/Introduction

Impact if the realm server is stopped after the messages are flowing between publisher and subscriber programs.

Resolution

If the realm server is stopped, the publisher and subscriber applications will continue to communicate but no longer share status with the realm server. This would be a modest performance impact since some extra time is being expended,  but for the highest performance where every CPU cycle is being used, it is likely that no performance impact would be seen by an application. Also, the monitoring information is not available since the realm server is stopped. Since the realm server has the ability to deployed as a FT pair, there are a number of things clients gain from connection to the realm server. We do not advise or advocate a model where the realm server is removed from service.
