Description

TIBCO Spotfire does not impose any size limitations on the data stored in the TIBCO Spotfire library, but there are limitations imposed by the database used for the TIBCO Spotfire application database. By default, all library items are stored within the application database and are limited by any database specific limitations.

If a storage limit is reached, you may see an error as described in the following KB article:

Issue/Introduction

Size limit of items stored in the TIBCO Spotfire Library.

Resolution

TIBCO Spotfire Server supports the following databases:
  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • Oracle
  • PostgreSQL (from TIBCO Spotfire Server 10.9)
See the System Requirements page for full details: https://docs.tibco.com/pub/spotfire/general/sr/sr/topics/tibco_spotfire_server.htmlAdditionally, you can also choose to store the actual data of library items outside of the database on the server's file system or on Amazon S3. In this case there are no explicit size limits. The Library item size limits per library location are as follows:

Microsoft SQL Server
Oracle PostgreSQL

External Library Data Storage
